Hi guys so I have pretty much mastered TIII systems with a dual receiver setup but I have discovered a 3 repeater Cap+ system nearby which I have now correctly populated in my frequency and site files.

The issue is this, when using the same dual setup that works perfect with a TIII system it does not seem to work correctly with a Cap+ system, I see the CC copies of FMPA/DSD switching between the rest channels/frequencys correctly but nothing happens on the VC copies of FMPA/DSD when voice is active.

It seems that the CC copies are doing the work for both CC and VC which I cant figure out why.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Based on what's being reported in another thread, I would verify that both copies of DSD+ are connecting to the correct TCP ports.

Ports are fine as I mentioned TIII systems on the same setup work perfectly but Cap+ not.

Could someone show me an example of a Cap+ system in their frequencies file?

Actually I found this in Trunking.txt

Could someone show me an example of a Cap+ system in their frequencies file?

Example system: (sid in RRDB is 10126) - First Energy - Sammis Plant Trunking System, Stratton, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies

DSDplus.networks
Cap+,10126,"First Energy - Sammis Plant"

DSDPlus.sites
Cap+,10126,2,"Hilltop"

DSDPlus.frequencies
; FIRST ENERGY SAMMIS
Cap+,10126,2,1,451.2750,456.2750,1
Cap+,10126,2,2,451.2750,456.2750,2
Cap+,10126,2,3,452.0750,457.0750,3
Cap+,10126,2,4,452.0750,457.0750,4
Cap+,10126,2,5,451.2000,456.2000,5
Cap+,10126,2,6,451.2000,456.2000,6

DSDPlus.frequencies (alternative)
Cap+,10126,2,1,451.2750,456.2750,1
Cap+,10126,2,3,452.0750,457.0750,3
Cap+,10126,2,5,451.2000,456.2000,5

I have absolutely no problem trunking this system with FMPA / DSDPlus / single dongle. And, in a two-dongle configuration, I would expect the majority of voice traffic to always take place on the CC copy (because unless the system is very busy, all of the voice activity is on the rest channel, which is being followed by the CC copy of FMPA/DSDPlus. No big deal for me, shouldn't be a big deal for you.

If it were me, I'd use a single FMP*/DSDPlus to monitor any Cap+ system, as there really is no need to run two copies of each to trunk Cap+.

That's very old information from the 1.101 files.

From Notes.txt:

DSD+ 2.183

Implemented single receiver mode Cap+ trunk tracking / voice following.

Implemented single receiver mode TIII trunk tracking / voice following.

DSD+ v2.10

Cap+ monitoring
---------------

Follow these steps to monitor / follow the rest channel and voice calls on a Cap+ system

a) select a network ID

Cap+ systems do not broadcast a network ID

If the system has been added to the RadioReference database, use its page number

Otherwise, assign the system a unique NID (9999, for example)

b) create an entry in the DSDPlus.networks file

Thank you for the example

Are all Cap+ tx/rx systems separated by a 5mhz split? The only difference I notice from your alternative config comoatee to mine is that you have 5mhz splits set. Maybe this is my issue.

I really wish there was DB for allocated UK frequencys.
