This morning’s Press of Atlantic City has a front page article about a lighting strike frying basically all electronics at the PD station this past Wednesday. Lost most computer files and had to transfer all dispatch to the County 911 center. Officials comment on their archaic radio system and say the storm answered the question of when to join County 911 and enter the world of digital radio. I am heading down there next weekend, but can anyone share how dispatch is being handled now? County has an active license on a 155.49 transmitter on the Cape May side of the canal, so is that in use or did they jerry rig something on 155.70?

They are still on VHF for now. The county has full dispatch capabilities on VHF. Thry tested the the fire tone outs all lzast week They pressure all towns that use the county dispatch to move to NJICS. Cape May doesn't have a time line to switch

YES and they still have an active license on it!

Technically, Cape May County which still utilizes VHF-Hi Band for various purposes is now licensed for that frequency as of 2019. So no surprise they can still use it. Just not used by Lower Township anymore for police operations since they are on NJICS.
