Any of you folks with the R30 using it your vehicle? Was using my 325P2 but got tired of turning the knob to have it move on from a hung up carrier. Besides the internal battery, how are you keeping yours charged up? Bringing it the house? extra battery pack or the AA option? One thing nice about the 325P2 is running off my usb port for power.

I have used my R30 in a car and just use a USB cable to charge it, if needed.

The usb cable is for data only as far as i know. When I plug the usb cable into my computer, does not charge at all. Am I missing something? Are you charging through the usb port?

You can charge the radio through the USB port just like a cell phone with a power cube or 12V in a car.

Just read the advanced manual and does show charging with usb cable. I’ll give it a try when I I go out next. Always thought the cradle was the only way. Do you use the radio while it’s charging?
