No Where.

95% of the time it would say Amateur Radio.

In chatting with the RCCL Security on my last cruise, as long as the radio doesn't transmit they don't care.

Enjoy your Cruise. And post back what your hear for the ships

PM me with your Departure and ship dates and I can share what other ships you will see/hear

As I have stated before on here, I am a former security officer for Carnival Cruise Lines, and also a many times traveler. Scanners are allowed on all cruise ships. As for Amateur Radios I have asked and was informed not to bring them, I have just slipped it into by luggage and never had an issue with it, and always used it on the ship. Don't ask Don't tell.

OK I am thinking the same thing here. I would like to take my VX-3 with me, it is great for AM FM reception. I guess I will take it apart and stash it in the kids carry on. I want to take the AOR with me to monitor military stuff down there in FLA area, since that is where we will be spending most of the time. Also see what I can hear on the train down to PNY.

I never had any problem with my scanner on board a carnival ship.
One year I did take my 2 meter HT with me and had no questions asked.
I dont carry any ham radios now because of possible problems.
Do take your scanner with you and take a shortwave portable too.
The MW band is really cool to listen to when out to sea.
long story short it is ok to scan on carnival
