Radios are useless without a good anntenna. Good antennas are relatively cheap, and still worth something in the event you actually do need a new radio. I really like my Cobra29, but it wouldn't be any better than anything else on a junker antenna. Check a truck stop for a LilWil. Ditto on avoiding the RS magmounts...they're cheaply made.

I own this CB Radio. It is a damn good Radio to say the least. But. Word of wise. Hand held Radio's suck when the Skip (Noise) rolls in. Even with correct Antenna your TX range will suffer big time. I have the "Correct" Antenna on my Hand Held that I bought from Randy's CB in Irvington,Nebraska. Even mine does it.

Uniden makes a nice small unit called the Pro510 if your trying to keep it small.
Wilson also makes a nice inexpesnive antennna called the Lil Wil Mag Mount.
You can pick up both for around $100.00 and have a very compact system that
should perform very well.
