Customs and Border Patrol is looking to be doing what they did for Katrina, and that is deploy a 24 hour airborne command post above Houston to coordinate assets.

So far, N145CS (OMAHA-45), a CBP P-3C has been running an orbit over west houston to coordinate all CBP assets with tasking. he came out of Kelly Field in San Antonio early this morning and has been on station all day.

His replacement, N403SK (OMAHA-03 another CBP P-3C) is enroute from the east into Kelly Field presumably to refuel and take over for the next station.

The on station P-3 has been using the following frequencies for tasking:

168.8375 NAC $293 - CBP Air-1 - CBP Airborne Command Post Air to Air
166.7875 NAC $293 - CBP Air-8 - CBP Airborne Command Post Air to Ground (HAMMER)

He is also passing warnings, and providing air-to-air and air-to-ground relays for tasking and other operations.
