Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

In the Developer Only version of the CE86 Programming Software, under "Common", "Hardware", there is a Radio Channel Tab that has a drop down menu for 16 Channel, 32 Channel, and 64 Channel.
Has anyone tried changing to one of the other options?
Is it anything like the Motorola Minitor V that actually has the memory for a second channel even if it's a single channel version.

First off, the VX 354 is a two way radio and NOT a pager recieverlike the Moto Minitor V.

Now, the software is for several differant radios in the 350 line and have the ablity to do differant things.

The 354 is a 16 channel ONLY radio.

Here is the product information page for the 350 radios.

Yes, I know the software is for multiple versions of the the 350 Series, but none of them have more than 16 channels, so why the drop-down for more channels? Besides, I asked if anyone had tried it. That's the info I'm looking for, not literature that's widely available.
Many manufacturers build in all the options and lock them out in the software/firmware because that's less expensive than producing multiple versions with different hardware.
