Where in the press release does it suggest they are returning to the scanner business? The products they showed at CES were all pretty generic Amazon/AliExpress/PatentTroll commodity stuff branded with the RS logo. And if $39 for an HDMI cable on the website is where they are heading, they won't be "back" for long.

I don’t believe Unden has had a public presence at CES for many years. They’ve had a private invitation only suite if I remember correctly.
I take back what I posted, sort of. Other than 2023 and 2024, Uniden didn’t have a public presence at the CES for numerous years.

As a brand, without very unique products, I wonder who their market is when most of the products are available many other places. Maybe they will expand what they offer but I see nothing that appeals to me. I wish them luck.
Got it, I read your post as RS was announcing some sort of scanner line to be sold, not Uniden being absent at CES.
Lafayette! We had one where I grew up in Southern California. I spent waaay more time there than RS. Spent a lot more money there, too.
Yeah, not much of a showing. The only thing the same about the Radio Shack now of the Radio Shack then is their higher than average prices.
