@1200L; 2022 Cessna 208 Carava; (N87MV), callsign IDAHO 87 (FBI?/DEA?). Came thru Reading's airspace @3900';
then to Lancaster and landed for a brief time; @1220L now airborne again over Lancaster airport. Picture on ADSB shows camera pods.
Maybe just pilot training?

IDAHO is a call sign used for any unspecified federal aircraft on a mission
Our local (county/city law enforcement) fixed-wings in Northern California also use the IDAHO callsign with specific number depending on the agency. Haven't paid close enough attention if it's used only when on a federal task force or if any type of operation.

I found your thread accidentally. In the Portland area of Oregon the Sheriff's Dept planes for Multnomah Co and Washington Co use IDAHO99 and IDAHO66 respectively. It seemed to be just normal usage instead of Federal taskforce use prior to the big E coming to local LE radio traffic.
