cf-29 and linux issues

got a mark 5 CF-29 running xp. I am planning on upgrading to a 31 at some point but wanted to see if I could get some life out of this one. Trying to load a iso for Linux mint via usb and keep getting a error that no operating sysem could be found. I tweaked the bios to boot the usb stick first and made sure it was the right usb choice. tried mint, and Ubuntu with no luck. I have the FDD instead of the CDrom so I went for the USB.

Any comment would be appreciated

did you use the proper tool to put the image on the stick?
cant just copy it on there

Got it done, Xumbutu 32 bit, running pretty good given the slow processor.
