Changes coming to Stafford County

I know that the county has begun buying fire apparatus and labeling them with a prefix of "15". I believe their has been a greater relationship with the NOVA fire chief's group and they are now using the COG 15 designator even though the county is not officially part of COG. The first known to me were Boat 1500 and Rehab 1500. I believe i heard Swiftwater 1501 on the radio yesterday. A Facebook post highlighted the purchase of two new pumpers. Engine 1501 and 1507. I have heard that a major change to Talkgroups and radio matrix will occur soon. I am hearing Quantico FD comms today on Incident 4.

Catching TG4561 again today. This TG is encrypted. I think this is related to a public service event. I heard reference to an "Event 1" channel.

Thanks for the update! Sounds like the county is aligning more closely with NOVA standards. Interesting to hear about the new units and upcoming radio changes.
