• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Back story: Trying to reduce the number of unused zones on our aircraft radios. We have three aircraft, and each one has a Triband and Dual Band Radio that is programable via the APX soft wear. Each aircraft has assigned Unit IDs for different trunked systems (Our State Sys, Neighboring State Sys. Shared County Sys. Neighboring County Sys. (The primary State sys and the Shared County Sys use the same IDs the Neighboring State, and the Neighboring County have their own assigned ID per radio.))

I have programed one of the Triband radios to the new code plug format we want to use. I did a drag and drop to the other two Triband radios and all three Dual Band radios. I've done this in the past have been able to change the unit ID numbers to the proper assigned aircraft radio in the past however; while doing it today, the unit ID box is not allowing me to edit the unit IDs.

In hopes to anticipate questions, we are using APX R31. The Moto Log In is from a former mechanic, no longer with our team. ASK programing is not checked in CPS.

Anyone have ideas as to why I'm having this issue.

You say you have system keys for 3 out of 4 systems.

Have you done a system key report in CPS? (IE You may need to load respective system keys into CPS) Additionally, are you trying to change radio ID's to something else? (Many times ASK's can be range limited. IE only allow certain talkgroups or radio ID's [within a certain numerical range])

Yes, have the system keys for 3 out of the 4 systems. I'm still waiting to hear back from the State the 4th system is apart to find out if we are in fact still allowed on their system or if we just need to use the interop's for communications in that state.

Tri Band 1's ID s going to stay the same. Tri Band 2 and three are to be changed to their proper ID's for each system. All three dual bands need to be changed to their proper ID for each system.
