WSOC has two repeater pairs licensed to them, 461.3 & 463.525 are the repeater output frequencies. I've had them loaded for years but I never have heard anything on them.

I do hear some comms on them.. Within the last several months numerous times, both have a PL of 103.5, I submitted both to db a couple weeks ago..

Matt,

Are those two frequencies on a repeater or is it simplex?

As far as I can tell, repeater. I have heard the helicopter on .525 a couple times talking back to the station giving position and time reports.

Traffic heard today

Scott, I heard some traffic today on th 525 freq. Helicopter pilot communicating with the station. Talking about live camera shots for 6 pm news. Lots of chatter. As for the air freq. , 123.050 is the Unicom for the Rock Hill Airport. That's all I hear down here. I also monitor 123.020 from a post from Bob. I have heard some air to air traffic but not able to determine who it was, they were brief and I just caught the tail end of their comms.

My earlier post was in error. The helecopter common channel for the Charlotte area is 123.02. You will hear chatter on that frequency starting around 4:30pm until around 6:30pm during the month of November, because it is a TV ratings period and the stations are all flying for their early evening newscasts.

WBTV - Sky 3 Helicopter

WBTV - Sky 3 is on 166.250 Mhz (PL 118..8) Heard them tonight, very active, around news time (6:00pm). Submitted it for the database under Mecklenburg County / Business.

Thanks Matt, I've been looking for that one. I've also verified the WSOC and WCNC freqs you submitted. Now that I'm listening for them I am hearing activity. Unfortunately in the car around newstime I'm usually locking them out now b/c of the constant carrier during the news.

I'll try WBTV tomorrow.
