Cheyenne Fire has moved to the new frequencies. They have been submitted to the database. It looks like the talkgroups are the same.

Are they still rotating the control channels as in the past prior to rebanding. Also who is doing their radio work these days.

Yep, it is the same system as before. They just jumped from the 866-868 freqs to the 851 freqs. The talkgroups are still the same and it is a 3600 baud control channel.

Does your scanner track the new channels OK?

Control Channel Freqs?

Can you post the control channel frequencies, the database shows them as 852 and 853, and you say they are 851. I am unable to track them down here in Severance, CO.
A little help would certainly be appreciated.

control

Right now the CC is 852.7000 (Feb 2 at 2215). I think I know why you might not be tracking. This is a 3600 baud system that changes control channels every 24 hours. Make sure that you put all the frequencies in because it uses all of them for control channels

Which scanners are you using to monitor the system? I see you have a Pro 97 and a 2067. Wondering if you can still use those radios on the system? They haven't started rebanding up here in Washington due to various issues still being worked out but figure it will start soon enough.

radios for cheyenne fire

I have a pro 96 and a pro 97 / 2055 they all seem to track it ok. I live east of Cheyenne but most of the time I am in town at work or driving around when I am listening to the fire TRS. I wonder how good the signal strength is once you get down to Colorado? They are transmitting from a tower by the Holiday Inn just off of I-80 on Beacon hill. The tower is only about 100 feet tall.

Comm Source is taking care of most of the radio stuff for parts of the state, they offered me a job as a radio tech but I turned it down as it was on call 24/7 for parts of the state that I would not want to drive to at 2 am in the snow.

Communications Source is taking care of most equipment now. Comm Source, Inc. (CSI Radio) is new and is getting involved as we can. 2 seperate companies in Cheyenne. Actually, Wireless Advanced Communications out of Evans, CO has been very involved in their upgrade into the WYOLINK project.
