The Zone 3 feed is gone too! Is there any way the nice people who were kind enough to have these feeds up would consider adding them again?

If you _need_ it the better option would be spending $100 and getting a scanner.

Looking for streaming delay...

As I have mentioned in another post, I would be happy to host a Zone 4 feed if there was some way to incorporate a 10 minute delay to the feed.

I am just going to buy a scanner, and putting a 10 min delay would defeat the the whole idea...

I'm the former provider of zone 3, zone 4 and zone 13. I had to pull everything down while I moved. It then slipped off my list to get back together. I've just restarted zone 3, I have an application in for zone 4 and hope to get zone 13 back up and running before too long. If you have any problems let me know.

Zone 4, 1st and 18th districts are now broadcasting as well. Let me know if you have problems. Right now it seems the audio is up a little too high on the radio providing that feed. I'll knock it down when I get home.

They are having huge problems with young people acting up downtown/river north, its not a good time to have a feed for Districts 001/018. I would pull down the zone 4 feed. You dont want these thieves monitoring zone 4. Use a scanner if you want to listen. These kids will use a feed, but most will not buy and program a scanner and carry it because the cops will " drop it" a few times if they find it.

Are you hearing word that the feed is helping the crime wave?

bwstein, thanks so much for your time and effort to have these great zones up and running once more! You who volunteer your equipment for the feeds are great folks!

no it just makes sense, that is what these kids are using to try and stay ahead of the cops. I have a younger sister and none of her friends own radio equipment because they can just stream it live right off there phones. if your going to stream police traffic at least put in a 10 minute delay or something. the more ways people have to listen to them the more ways they keep coming up with to keep us shut out. any body heard any traffic on the OCD system lately, i haven't heard much, I wonder why huh? this will all lead to encryption someday. don't believe me look at the cook county sheriffs dept. alot of things are making Chicago harder to monitor and live streaming feeds of police trying to do there job doesn't help our cause.

just my 2 cents,
Bob

There is no way kids can listen to a stream and understand what's going on... Plus the inherent delay would make it even more unusable.

The CPD seems to have gotten a handle on that issue of " flash mobs" for now .Putting a delay or not broadcasting the feed only hurts the hobby not the chance of maybe someone may have their phone with the app going for the right district or zone at the right time to maybe avoid the police..

Get real.

Wow you really think kids are that stupid these days, if they have it they will use it but believe what you want but don't think that for a second these kids don't have one person in the group listening to the feed. how about people my age that are as old or older than most of the new cops hitting the streets that have molded it down to a science to find there feed and listen to it and use it to evade police. long story short stream fire stuff and ems if you want but when it comes down to it streaming live police audio is a matter of police safety, i work with some after school organizations that try to keep kids off the streets and try give them a safe place to be kids not one of them has ever been able to or
figure out how to come in with a radio programmed up to hear what they need but I am yet to meet a kid who cant figure out exactly how to listen to what he needs using their cell phone. oh yeah and the gang bangers love it I have children that are scared to even speak wrong or walk home
because they have seen the neighborhood idiots using their smart phones to get away from beating up one of these kids friends. I love radio reference too but I don't think police should be streamed live any where. maybe you would feel differently if you were trying to keep it safe for kids and police in the many Chicago neighborhoods and not just thinking about how its nice to be able to listen to Chicago from where ever in the world I am. be realistic if you give young criminals a tool they will attempt to use it if you give adult criminals the tool they will definitely use it. why don't you come down to a cease fire meeting in lawn dale or pilson before you tell me that people aren't using these apps to try and stay ahead of the police. radio is a wonderful hobby and so is scanning but this whole Internet streaming audio of live police calls will be the end of law enforcement monitoring for those of us who try and help people not to mention obey the laws and report crimes in an attempt to try and help not to mention we had to learn how to use, program, set up, and listen to the radio traffic we wanted to hear on the radio, live feeds make it so you don't have to know anything but your smart phone to listen to the police from anywhere. at the end of the day it puts a radio in the hands of people who should have no access to it right over there phones no matter how convenient it is for those of us who use it legally and don't commit crimes or have been into radio our whole lives the Internet is putting already sensitive information on easily obtainable Internet feeds for who ever to use. now tell me how that isn't designed to back fire.

That is not a long story short. It's long. And needs some punctuation, spell check and capital letters. And kids still don't know how to use a live feed to commit crimes.

The hood rats love streaming. Most dont have the brains to understand pl/dpl tones or program a system but with a smart phone the will download the app and listen in. They teach each other how to do these things.Last Fri night another person had an i phone snatched at Michigan and Washington. The hood rat that did it was last seen fleeing through Millenium Park. A few days prior to that, Officers caught one of these hoodlums and recovered an i-phone after a several block "on and off" cat and mouse foot" chase. The thief dumped the i-pad that he took from the victim. rbrtklamp2 is right, keep this up and get ready for more encryption. I can see streaming small Barney Fife towns but streaming zone 4 is a poor idea. The Police are short handed there and the place is swarming with thieves praying on the yuppies that live and work downtown. I know of examples where the CPD has found some very bad people streaming patrol zones. If they ever come online with the new P25 Digital system, there will be ENC on tac and gang channels.

I agree with "R.Klamp", yesterday my two grandson's showed me there new i-pad, said "LOOK" i can hear CPD better than those scanners u use!!....About 8:30pm last nite the dispatcher on 460.20 said "OK boys, follow the list of "shots fired" and read off a list of 17 locations....This is better than Afganistan!!,...
