• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I'm using CHIRP to query the db to gather frequencies. However I'm not able to get Missouri Public Safety frequency info, as I'm only able to search by zip code. Does anyone know a way around this? Trying to upload to my baofeng radio to scan Highway Patrol. Any help is appreciated.

Are they on a trunked system?
Forgive my ignorance.. I’m not sure what that is. When I manually search the database, I’m able to see the Missouri public safety grouping; and within that the Missouri Highway patrol. But using CHIRP to query the database, I don’t seem to be able to find that section.

Querying from CHIRP, I only get the option to search by zip code, which doesn't pull up the data that I'd like to upload to my radio.

Is there another way to do this within CHIRP?

What radio do you have and what exactly are you looking to have chirp import? Post a link in the database. The link you already posted has low band, vhf, uhf and links to trunked system and does not specify the users you are interested in.

It's a digital trunked radio system.
Your Baofeng cannot receive digital voice signals.
Your Baofeng cannot track a trunked system.
MO SHP also uses VHF low band (42 MHz) as a backup. Your Baofeng cannot receive VHF low band.
In some areas MOSWIN uses 700 MHz and 800 MHz. Your Baofeng can't receive those.

You should have bought a scanner.

Is there another way to do this within CHIRP?
CHIRP probably won't import frequencies that each radio model doesn't cover. I'm not sure about that. If it does, then you still won't be able to upload to the radio.

CHIRP will not import any frequency or mode that the radio doesn't have.

For statewide analog systems, like some Texas state agencies, that the radio will handle, you'll need to import from the website to a .csv file. Then you can copypasta to the image.
