Is the information in the database for Los Angeles central office (Black2) CHP correct? The database has 44.94 186.2.
I hear every other station in LA county but this one.

I'm getting traffic on Chp black 2. Doesn't seem to be a very busy Channel. I've heard them maybe twice in a half hour. I'm in south LA.

I've driven through that area during morning rush hours and not heard them.
I can hardly hear them at my house in the OC yet I can hear all the LA office locations including Riverside, San Bernardino and Oceanside.
Thought they were maybe using one of the LA trunking systems.

Unless you're listening to the mobile frequency, you're hearing mostly hill/mountain-top simulcast bases, not the individual offices. In this case, it looks like Black2 is on Mt. Lee (the "HOLLYWOOD" sign; 85 W ERP) and Baldwin Hills (120 W ERP), so I can understand it not being heard well in GG. Riverside and Oceanside, however, include Santiago Peak. I doubt you'll ever see CHP use a non-state system.

I can hear Baldwin hills no problem. I can hear Newhall, Altadena, West LA.
The Central transmitter is either low power being so close to the area it covers or they are having technical problems if they are on Mt. Lee

I guess I stand corrected. Still a law-enforcement-grade system, though, right? I guess I expect them to not use a commercial system (like the Inyo/MRA thing).

As of 20:00 hours on 5/20/22 they are transmitting on 44.940 with a PL of 186.2. I'm copying them loud and clear in Montebello on an HT1250 with the crappy rubber duck antenna.
