Not sure if this means much but CHP Stockton was asking an Amador unit to head to their station for radio reprogramming. Are they planning to switch over to the P25 planned frequencies soon and split the White between Stockton/Tracy and Amador/Calaveras?

Which planned (CHP) P25 frequencies would those be?

If you're speaking of the P25 frequencies in the 760/770 range, those are used as mobile extender frequencies (replacing the former 154.905MHz analog frequency) for when the officer is out of his vehicle, also for area offices to talk to dispatch. I've tested and verified that these do work (driving near accident sites, area offices, construction zones, etc.).

As far as I know (and I could be wrong), the CHP will be staying on their 42/44 VHF range.

My guess is they just doing some updates on the frequencies in the radios for some reason, maybe utilizing the new planned WHITE channel that used to be listed in the database for the San Andreas/Amador offices.

But, then again, I could be wrong! :p

This is what I was referring to. Just checked the CHP page and the planned freqs have been removed and only show the current layout. I had just assumed that it would have been P25 but then again, I can see CHP being the exception and being allowed to continue on their analog setup.

Hope all is going well with you Bill,
David

I was down in Ione a couple days last week, and the Amador units were still on the White at that time. Maybe they are finally going to split them off.

So everyone is clear, no changes have been made. There is no time frame known to split amador and calaveras off from Stockton and Tracy. Once that happens, please begin discussion then as this may only confuse folks if we start it now.

Thanks
