City of Eugene, Public Safety TRS

The city of Eugene has filed an application with the FCC, to construct a three-site simulcast, Project 25 TRS, for all public safety agencies. Apparently, this new system is a joint-effort between Eugene and the county of Lane, and will cover the Springfield area. More information can be found at the FCC Web site.

This radio system been in works for years lane county was looking at Uhf TRS but they never got money need to build it.

Hey, you all need to go to this page to read the letter and RF study. The letter says they got $3 million from DOJ in 2005 and are just now applying for licenses. This is to be a 3 site simulcast P-25 trunked system with 11 freqs to be used by Eugene PD, Springfield PD and Lane County Sheriff. They plan to follow with stand alone sites on Mt. Hagen, Bear Mt., and Prairie Mt. The RF study shows coverage areas and a ton of other UHF freqs and who has them. Interesting reading.
