I'm hearing that The City Of New Rochelle, NY(Westchester County) is switching over to digital P-25 on 1/1/19 so does anyone know what type of system this will be and the frequencies? They currently are on 155.130/100.0 and have been so for 40 years.
Note: Please move this thread to the appropriate section-sorry I wasn't able to do this.

Submit a Freedom of Information Request for the bid documents and contract. Be sure to ask for a PDF only as required by law to avoid copy fees. Wonder if they are going encrypted like Yonkers just did....

Yonkers did NOT go encrypted. Wrong information. They are P-25 phase 1.

You're the one with wrong information. Yonkers PD is now fully encrypted.

Are you saying that the RR database is wrong for Yonkers? It lists them as P25 conventional encrypted.
The database is correct, Bob is not.

Yonkers is P25 conventional encrypted. Can't hear them on my xts5000 anymore. Also they're not on a phase 1 trunking system.
"Phase I" is most commonly used to refer to a trunked system, although some people also use it to describe any FDMA P25, including conventional.

Guys, you are saying that as of my writing(1/13/19) that Yonkers, NY Police is now fully encrypted? Ok, does anyone know when the City Of New Rochelle, NY Police is going digital. It is being worked on now. I used to work for them back in the late 1970's.

Yes, Yonkers PD is fully encrypted. They have been for a couple of months now. As far as New Rochelle PD, I only heard a few years back that they're were supposed to move to UHF but that's as far as I know.

Yonkers PD Has been encrypted for at least 2 months if I remember correctly. It has been in the DB ever since they switched, You can tell because if you look in the DB under Yonkers PD and look under the mode collum the is a capital "E" after P25, denoting full encryption.

I used to work for New Rochelle Police back from 1977-79 and now I'm hearing that the P-25 will begin in March 2019. They already have a UHF frequency but it is scrambled for detectives and is LISTED on Radiorference.com So I'm still un-sure what they will be used be it trunking or whatever. Their signal sucks on 155.130/100.0 compared to when I was with their parking/traffic division as a CSW back then.

I realize this thread pertains to New Rochelle, but with all the discussion about Yonkers...

How does YPD's migration to "E" affect Empress Ambulance, who operated on YPD's repeaters when assigned to the City? Are they now scrambled as well?

Empress is still on their own separate radio system and not likely encrypted.

New Rochelle: Are they also going encrypted?? And is their one UHF frequency voice inversion or encryption???
Am guessing it is voice inversion as also exists with Hastings PD.

Archie-I'm thinking voice inversion on UHF for detectives. Their current signal is not good around this area with low audio on 155.130/100.0 but Ansky stated that he hears it 30 miles away in New Jersey. Go figure. I used to work for the City Of New Rochelle Police and I'm now hearing that the start date for their new digital system is 3/1/19. I'm going to go into headquarters over the next day or so and or talk to some of the officers on Facebook.
