The cities 800mhz system has gone down and not at a worse time, there are runaway barges on the river and several mudslides and flooding taking place in the city.

Fortunatly it wasn't down for long though.... Now if Staleys can ony figure out how to fix the noise problem that has chronicly plagued the county sheriffs repeater for over a year.....

From what I heard the the comm center had a problem with water and that is what caused the breakdown in communications. What type of scanning equipment do you have, and do you listen to the city very often.

Yeah I have been a whg metro scanner addict since about 1990

at this time I have a bc 796, 780, 210, 80 and a ubc 3000 as well as a pro 92 and pro 51... now all I need is a digital portable and a couple nice rooftop antennas from my ctr. whg res because I want to be able to pick up jefferson and monroe county comms... Living down here in the valley has really thrown a wrench in my scanning options... (used to live in clearview and could even pick up PGH fairly decent with the stock antennas)

Q: should we be hearing anything on the Bridgeport or St. C MARCS sys..?

I have not heard much out of the MARCS system lately. A couple of weeks ago they were doing testing in Belmont County, they had a lot of problems when they were trying to do the DATA Passes. I hope it picks up soon. Every now and then I will here sporadic talk from Post 7 but not that much.

Ha thats funny... well sort of... (I pm'd u b4 I read this).../

Um yes even with the audio adjusted poperly, digital transmissions sound like ****. (on my bc796) if I have the volume cranked up all the way, the analog transmissions sound great but the digital ones are "underwater"

to comprehend what is being said on the digi x-missions I cant have the vol. over 3/4... plus there is this one dispatcher from bridgeport that must put her mouth on the mic when she talks because she is always unintelligible on the pd talkgroup but on the analog fd talkgroup I can make out what she is saying..

Nope. There's one at Gund Arena in Downtown Cleveland that's so low-powered that you have to be within a 1 block radius to pick it up.

The one for the Cleveland Clinic can be heard for a ways. It's an LTR system. CCF Police also simulcast on 3 additional conventional channels for whatever unknown reason.
