I was briefly in Juarez and noticed the various police and fire services. I know the federal uses tetra and policia estatal similiar which are encrypted. I recall in past Juarez using VHF and Waris series radios typically ones without displays.
Looking in the database it shows policia delegacion as type II trunked analog and then transit as type IIi trunked with digital in use.
While there though I observed a handful using the Waris series portables without displays with VHF antennas. Others I seen with radios that would be used on a smartnet/smartzone or p25 systems.
So my question is what do they actually use or is it random for particular divisions to use the old VHF or the type II systems? I'm sure the database is outdated as I would imagine there is more talkgroups then just dispatch or maybe someone got it mixed up? Transit seems to have a more accurate layout of what the police would use.
