Cl&p

These are the freqs I have in my BC780xls.
I hear activity on the 37 MHz freqs. I live in Stafford.
Don't remember where I got the freq from but I used to work for GE 2-Way and used to install and service the radios before they got their own service people..... Looooong time ago.

Ya me too...
Recently put all my scanners on battery backup so I can hear all the action...
Wood stove heat, Gas stove cooking, and scanner activity... I love country living.
If all else fails.. pull out the generator..

CL&P East

After recent tropical storm Ireen I found 47.84 very active
in the East, I live in Stafford.
I thought it was dispatch from Tolland but I heard Berlin
mentioned allot.
I'm sure Berlin can pick which base they want to use.

Chris, I found an even better more specific map of the coverage areas for the entire state on their website. Seems like United Illuminating covers only a small part of FFLD and NHVN counties. The rest of the state is pretty much served by CL&P. Click on the high resolution tab on the top left.

CL&P Frequencies

Try 37.360 PL 162,2 for Cheshire District which encompasses to Newington on the Wethersfield line and to the south to Meriden to the west New Britain, Plainville, Bristol, Cheshire and Southington. This is Northeast Utilities largest district with 130,000 plus customers

48.340 PL 162.2 for Simsbury District which covers West Hartford, Farmington, Avon, Canton, Simsbury, East Granby, Granby, East Hartland.

47.900 and 48.200 PL 162.2 for Hartford District which has about 99,000 customers with a lot of underground cable in Hartford. It covers Hartford, Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, Windsor, East Hartford, Manchester and Bolton.

Keep in mind during storms line personnel get most of their assignments from local distircts via hard copy so a lot of times there isn't that much traffic on the radio. Also some frequencies from other post will include the meter department calls as well.

Good Luck

To Radioman2001
I was hired by Pioneer (July 1972) to Install radios in CL&P trucks.
Lasted 1 week, became tech and did repairs, no more installs.
Somewhere in a couple of years CL&P started their own radio repair.
Then Kemp in 1979 as tech, then CSP.
