I have seen numerous ads that say the listing is expired. When you click on the ad, it says "This listing is closed.". Does that mean that the item has been sold, or the close date on the listing is just expired? I assume the listing party would label the item as "Sold" or the listing would be removed, but I'm not seeing that in the listing. Can anyone clarify this?

I've used or tried to use the classifieds on RR many times. I tried buying a few things and never, ever got a response back. I had what I thought were some cool antenna things to sell and they never got a single inquiry. I put the same items on Ebay and they got more than I asked for and sold quick.

I've also had great luck selling amateur related items on QRZ.com. If the price is right it can sell in 5 minutes. It seems people come to RR for information and not to buy things. When you go to Ebay or QRZ swap, buying and selling is the thing and you know why your there.

I have looked on here, but never bought. Got a few items off of ebay. Maybe I'll contact some of those with expired listings and see if the stuff is still available.

Same as budd, always looking to add to the shack. I’ve had good response after posting things to sell in the Classifieds. Bought a few times, too. I would rather sell here than eBay or Craigslist, etc, as it is more of a proprietary community. Not nearly as ‘busy’ as the usual selling sites, so patience is a requirement here. Took me a month to sell my R75.

I've bought a few things with no trouble. Selling, however...

I used to have a BC250D handheld scanner which I sold when I bought a newer digital model; put the listing on here at a really attractive price and didn't have a single inquiry for a solid week. So I closed the ad here and put it on eBay. Within a week I had sold it for more than double what I was asking on here.

Go figure.

I have sold four things here on RR over the last two months (cleaning up the shack.) I received multiple offers on everything. So, I guess YMMV.
