I will be traveling through Clay County next month. I see the that Clay County is not on the WVSIRN system. I was also wanting to monitor the WV State police and some other agencies on the WVSIRN system on my travels. Can some one tell me what tower sites from neighboring counties that I should put in my radio to hear things in Clay County? I will be taking an SDS 100 for monitoring trunked radio systems and a Uniden 436HP to listen in on Clay County VHF and UHF.

For SIRN towers surrounding Clay Co:

1-014 Elmpira
1-024 Gassaway
2-004 clendenin
2-033 Ansted
2-037 Spencer
2-042 summerville

Clay Co has a site that is supposed to be going in, but nobody has reported it active yet. Maybe you can check on it when you are down there?

WRXF318 - SIRN trunked site
461.5125
462.025
462.475
463.5125
464.2625

Not sure how accurate the DB is for Clay Co conventional. The last submission to the Clay Co conventional database was 2006.

These conventional licenses to be kept up to date.

On my travels through Clay today, I did not pick up any data or voice on the SIRN frequencies listed above.

Tower is built. Site equipment is in. Awaiting power installation.

Unsure if they even have freqs yet.

Clay Co. Is all Convential P25 VHF for the past 2-3yr.

Also WRXF318 is listed as Clay County Public Service Dept. I would say these are the freqs for the new SIRN site and ther isnt hardly any frequencies available so they file under business band.

Yes WRXF318 is the new trunked site.

Clay Co has been conventional P25 VHF for the past 2-3 years? VHF ? If that is the case, what are the VHF P25 frequencies in use?

The database only listed UHF analog.

Oh theres more and they are legal. I have everything for them as we mutual aid in there alot.. But I don't have rights to post what is not mine... But if you look under Clay Co Commission after a license search in ZipCode 25043 you will find the VHF Freqs.

If the people of Clay Co aren't interested in having up-to-date info the DB, then I'm not. I could search for (and likely find) licenses as you suggest, but I wouldn't know which frequencies were P25, which ones were in use, and what agency was using them for what purpose. That's something somebody in Clay Co has to determine and submit if they want it listed.
