September 2024 Update

The Current Clifton City government is still in a bit of state of chaos with council members dived on a number of issues. Especially $ budgetary items along with the lack of having a Fire Department Chief. Operations are being run by rotating FD Deputy Chiefs. Things are day to day with a lot of activity is of lesser priority or on hold all together. Some technical matters have also come up on slightly relocating one of the UHF repeater sites causing more delaying implementation further.
The new UHF system will be a three site simulcast. However, with all the administrative and technical delays.
This system is now estimated to go live or begin testing in January 2025! 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️⁉️

I reached out to someone who is on the Clifton fire department. While they are testing radios, the response was no plans to change to UHF anytime soon.
