I have a BCD536HP and it seems when the close call gets a hit the volume is lower than the other channels I have looked everywhere to see if there is a setting for the volume on close call but I cannot find one. Does anyone have an ideal?

Do you mean the volume of the audio? You may have the modulation for the band of the hit set for FM when the hit is for a NFM signal. There is no 'correct setting' for this since different users use different modes, and no setting will be correct for everyone. But, if you find the audio low most of the time, try setting that band (or those bands) for NFM. That will make the audio level higher.

If you mean the alert tone, you may have it set for a low level. Set it for AUTO.

Yes its the audio and close call is set to auto. Google says the freq. says is an old fire dept. dispatch but its the only thing coming up on close call. And I must say I am new to this hobby and I am so addicted to listening to my local police and the airplanes flying over my head and you can hear a fire fighter while he is in a building there are so many things.

Change the audio for that band from AUTO to NFM

OR

Change the bandplan for that band segment from AUTO or FM to NFM.
