I am sitting in Charlotte-Douglas Airport with my upgraded PRO-668 monitoring the Mecklenburg sites of the UASI. I I have head nothing on the PD talkgroups. so officers just walked by on a call with their radios chattering away. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong would be appreciated.

Using a Whistler on a simulcast system, they don't play nice together.

I gather you have never put the wrong fuel in your vehicle? The analogy is, trying to use a non-Simulcast scanner on a Simulcast system..

But what is a simulcast system? I have been told systems like the Durham TRS are NOT simulcast systems by someone here.
If only there were simulcast systems in my local area.

DTRS is not Simulcast. A Simulcast system is like, sort of like. Five bumpers(towers), on a pin ball machine with five pin bal]ls going ar the same time.

Not sure why you think it is not, but Durham is most certainly a simulcast system. You can look at their license and see that they have four distinct sites all operating on the same frequencies. If that is not a simulcast then I do not know what is.

I was going by, not only this: Durham/Fayetteville. But also, The other three towers you mention. Are not listed on the Radio Reference page I provided.

Perhaps the database ought to be updated to clarify that it is indeed a simulcast, but I assure you that it is. Like I said, you can check the license and see it for yourself. I will admit that "Durham Prime Site" is a little misleading since it says "site" singular.

You can also think of it this way: a single site is not enough to cover all of Durham County with reliable handheld coverage. It would be pretty foolish to have just one tower. If you really want to convince yourself that it is indeed a simulcast site, go stand next to each of the sites listed on the license and remove the antenna from your scanner and I bet you will still be able to get a signal.

It is, indeed, a 24 channel, 4 site P25 Phase 1 FDMA simulcast system. And in the next couple years we will be a 5 site simulcast system as we move one site and add another to augment southern system coverage. I don't know why he continues to refuse to believe facts but whatever.
Going into my wayback machine here is a section of the scope of work prepared by Motorola in 2012 long before we upgraded to P25 SIMULCAST.

I guess neither me nor Motorola know what we are talking about.
