Today, around noon I started hearing the Coast Guard on the SF P25 system (700mhz). The talkgroup is 35102 and the traffic sounds like it is for the Americas Cup. They mentioned Channel 81A, and the calls on this talk group are for enforcement. It just seems a little odd since I have not noticed any other traffic on this system except for the occasional radio tech.

It might be a mutual aid talkgroup. Those usually get used for special events.

Off topic, your call sign had a very interesting previous license holder. I'm sure you've heard stories :)

It could also be a radio patch with SF and USCG that is used for the Americas Cup event. Sometimes USGC is patched into the SF Fire Tac Channels during surf and cliff rescues.

Heard 35102 active again today, with traffic like "team 5, return to the command post". Probably related to the Super Bowl City operations.

Also heard some encrypted traffic on 35109, and a few radio checks on 35100.
