Just heard over metro net. An unknown Department talking to DPD asking for cars on a Code enforcement Officer shot 10 min ago. Sounds like they have a huge perimeter set up. Anyone have any info or ears on this??

U/D Possible Aurora officer. Again Department on Metro net asking DPD to ask DPS to lock down school at corner or Monaco and Leetsdale. Still no idea who's Code Enforcement officer is down, Unknown officer status. Looking for a African American male late 30's. Was in gray hoodie, was found ditched in a dumpster. Again I do not have ears on this, just getting this from traffic on Metro net.

AURORA, Colo. -- Aurora police are actively searching for a gunman who shot a code enforcement officer at Montview Boulevard and Clinton Street, just south of Stapleton.

The shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. There's no word on the extent of the victim's injuries.

LIVE VIDEO: SWAT Scene

Police have set up perimeter in the area as officers search for the gunman, said Aurora police spokesman Detective Bob Friel. Residents are asked to avoid the area.

The Aurora Sentinel is reporting that officers have surrounded the Clinton Apartments searching for a black male wearing blue jeans and a gray and red shirt.

U/D 1721-Looks like food fire only. Picking up all companies w/ exception of E1 and T2

They are not sworn officers, nor are they armed, but they are uniformed. At least in Broomfield the most they carry is a taser.

In Aurora they're not part of the Police Department, they belong to city hall under Neighborhood Services Department

Sounds like a ton of Aurora PD Brass going to the hospital, Air one told they can clear once dog search is done. I would say they either know where the guy is, know he got out of containment or know he's not a threat any more.

Aurora U/D: Chester, Clinton and Dallas Streets remain closed between Montview and 17th, suspect remains at large and multi-agency search continues on APD Tac-11 and Blue SE.
