Arrest Warrant Issued After Two Found Dead of Apparent Gunshot Wounds

The Colorado Springs Police Department received the report of a shooting in the area of 2800 E. Platte Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located a male and a female who were both deceased at the scene, and had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. The suspect in this investigation has been identified as 22 year Gary Glen Vigil. Vigil is a Hispanic male, 5’6”, 180 pounds with very short black hair and brown eyes. Vigil has multiple tattoos on his chest, neck and arms. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. There are no known vehicles associated with Vigil. An arrest warrant has been issued for Vigil for Murder in the 1st Degree.
The identification of the two victims will not be released pending positive identification and notification of their families.
An autopsy is pending by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office, who will rule as to the manner and cause of death of both individuals. If ruled as homicides, these will be the 20th and 21st homicides of 2013. There were 14 homicides in the city at this time last year.
