My name is Luke. I am 41 years old. I was born and raised in Denver. My grandfather got me hooked on this hobby when I was very, very young, gave me the C.B. handle “Luke-one”. I monitor anything and everything that I can. Mostly the State DTRS, HF, and Aurora right now. Currently studying for my Ham license (finally), hope to test next month. My wife and I have been married for 21 years and counting. We have been self employed since we were 25. We have done everything from Monitoring oil and gas drilling rigs (mud logging) in Wyoming to our restaurant which we have had for 7 years now. I always think that some day this hobby will get old, but I just can’t get enough of it. I wish I could make a living doing it, I would be set! Ok, TMI, that’s all.

Erik, 45 yo Male. I'm in Boulder, grew up in Denver. I've been monitoring off and on (mostly on) since 1978 or so. I was an EMT and EMS dispatcher (private companies) in high school and college, learned dispatching at DGH. Also worked as a security dispatcher and a hospital security officer during college. Was into CB from about 1975 until it became popular and obnoxious.

My name is Chris Rodgers. Been scanning since I was 10 and I'm 20 now. For the last year I've been with Longmont Emergency unit as an EMT (have had emt cert for 2 years now) and radio programmer. I'm going to be going to Aimes in January to start for my fire science degree. I'm currently employed as a Wildland Fire dispatcher for the Bureau of Land Management in Rawlins, Wy. Dispatching for the United States Forest Service and BLM in the Southern half of Wyoming. I'll be back from that job in about a week or so since the season has ended and i'm only a seasonal.
When I'm home back in Colorado I monitor all of the Emergency Services in Boulder County and the Agencies that surround the northern half of it. When not scanning those I'll switch over and listen to civil and mil air comms or search the air waves for something new and exciting to listen to. In Wyoming my radio at work seems to be the best source for listening excitement. That is were most of the action happens at. And since my radio is linked to different sites around Wyoming I can listen pretty far.
When I'm home back in Colorado I monitor all of the Emergency Services in Boulder County and the Agencies that surround the northern half of it. Steve, age 20. I am a junior here at CU Boulder working on my degree in business and accounting (Go Buffs!!!). I work closely with CUPD as a loss prevention agent for the CU Bookstore (can be heard on gold ch. as unit 8799). I grew up in Highlands Ranch and have been listening since I was 10. I mainly monitor Boulder, State DTRS, and Arvada/Westy. It is nice to have a job where you can scan and everyone else tells you to "turn up your radio"!

got hooked into this as a yungin back in New England. My dad was a firefighter and me and my older brother were as teens there also. Got a radioshack 8 channel crystal scanner for my twelth birthday been hooked since........spent 20 years in california............listen to mainly fire stuff and forestery I sure do miss CDF in california if any of you have never heard them give a listen they are the best!!!

I monitor Wheatridge, Arvada/Westy, Denver, Arapahoe, DougCo, Jefferson, etc Fire and PD. Depends on where I am and where I am going. Also, aviation (civil and mil) along with occasional airport ops (APA, DEN).
I'm 25, male, married for just over a year and have been interviewed and accepted by a regional airline for a first officer position, just waiting for a class date (Oct. class is not happening).
Just sent my 396 back "home" to get fixed up after I had a battery meltdown inside the radio - my advice, get a good external charger and a few sets of batteries - don't charge them in the radio esp. since it's a timer-based charging circuit.
And, if anyone ever wants to take a flight over the city, or elsewhere, drop me a line! And, the MSCD student I met at the scanner buff meeting (I think your name was Mark?), if you want to split some time, drop me a line too. I need to keep current while I wait for a class date and I know you need some hours in the log book!
