Is it worth bringing my police scanner there anthing to hear sense police went to encryption ?

Absolutely! Fire is in the clear. Cities, county/Cal Fire and US Forest Service. Large military presence here so scan the Navy Region Southwest system. Marine VHF and the US Coast Guard are also good for action. (Punch in those DHS MCS frequencies, too). If you’re into MilAir monitoring, there are bases across the entire county. I don’t know when you’re coming, but we’re having great weather for at least the next 10 days, so bring your sunscreen! Travel safe and have fun.
