Using SDS200 & ProScan.

I would like to compare two different database files that were exported out of ProScan. 1 file is my usual favorites and the second file I had the scanner set to use all services and full database based on my location and 10mi radius. My idea was to weed out my favorites and see if I was missing any listening opportunities.

I have 500+ frequencies loaded in my favorite with a lot turned off. My ProScan history after 24hrs shows about 32 frequencies that I am receiving regularly - so an obvious huge opportunity to prune my favorites list. The full database showed about 30-40 channels after 24hrs.

I have both database "txt" files and used Compare in MS word but - wow what a mess that was to go through. For a text document maybe ok but for the database files unreadable. I see there are online "diff finders" but was hoping for an off line / local solution.

Not even sure if my approach is right any suggestions are welcomed.

Beyond Compare is another great utility that I've used many times. It works very well when comparing two files, line-by-line. It'll show the two files side-by-side, and highlight lines that are different.
