I was wondering why Radio Shack PRO 96 can scan the VSP stars system faster than a BCD436HP. I have programed each as a system based on the Divisions. I have a system programmed seperatly for each Division in the Pro 96 channel banks 0-7. I also programmed the BCD436 whith 7 different systems.
The PRO96 can scan the systems much faster than the BCD 436HP. Can any expalin why the BCD436HP takes so long to scan the sames or am I doing something wrong.
als, has anyone measured the RF sensetivity between a PRO 96 and a BCD436HP. The two radios side by side the PRO96 performes much bettet receiving the VSP Stars systems.

Any help on this would be helpful.

Well, my old, OLD Pro96 is better than the paperweight/weather radio WS1080 I mistakenly bought. I notice it's faster scanning banks and channels too but that's an inefficient way of doing things, especially the way they did the Talk-group limits for the Pro96/2096 with closed banks and lockouts. THE Pro96 is 60 channels a second. I would guess Whistler and Uniden are 70-90 steps* a second? but it doesn't matter when you can add your most important talkgroups or (objects) to every LIST. I never miss a thing this way and have local FIRE in Priority too. So scan rates don't matter. Reception of P25 systems is better but Pro96 can't TRUNK 700mhz and wasn't made for Phase II etc. It's in the past now
