Hey All, does anyone have any favorite programs for computer controlled scanning? I've been using Spectrum Commander for quite some time and it does wonders with my PCR1000's. There's no trunking in my area currently so I haven't had any reason to switch.

I also have a PRO-2052 which Spex nolonger supports so I use a separate program for that called Scanpro2052.

With the intruduction of the new VIPER system at some point, I was wondering if I'm going to need any serious updates, other than hardware obviously. And I am just looking for suggestions. Thanks.

Steve

Disregard my post. I see now that there is another level of scanning for me to check into...Scanstar.com has some neat programs to check out. :)

I use Spectrum Commander myself as well as Probe. They run a couple of Optocoms, and PCR-1000. Both SC and Probe are great and have proven very reliable. My 2 Probe machines are dedicated DOS machines and have been running 24x7 for almost 5 years now.
For the trunked systems I use a BC780 and an BC996.
I control both of these with "ID tracker" when monitoring trunked system. Works great.
The later versions of ID Tracker are really nice as they allow RR.com members to directly download trunked systems data into the program. This makes monitoring and logging with these programs really nice.
