computer search irregularity

I have a problem that I never used to have. When I start at my home page (yahoo or google) and do a search or two or go into one or two different sites, I can't seem to tab back to my home page. Also sometimes it seems to get the order mixed up, instead of taking me back to my home page, it will bring go back passed my home pages to a page that it did a search on from the home page, so the home page is where I should end up, but it does not end up there. Any ideas? TIA.

If your using Firefox I would uninstall and do a re installation.

I should have mentioned I am using Explorer 8, and windows xp pro sp 3 running on a p111 with 256 Mbs of ram lol, but I never used to have that problem.
