because DSD+ VC event log says some frequencies are Con+ and some are Cap+

Make sure you hit "F" when running DSD+ to refresh the system information while scanning DMR systems. It's better than it was but the software still takes a slight kick-in-the-butt in most cases.

So after you find a system and collect its information from DSD+ immediately after resuming your frequency scan then hit "F" while in your DSD+ window to remove the previous system's information or you may see misleading data.

I'm not sure if the event log data is "accurate" either.

Also "fun" when you have 3 or 4 DMR systems on the same frequency.

This is terribly annoying. I've also been seeing DMR and NXDN on the same frequencies -- which can cause DSD+ to freak out some times.

They are different systems, then - one Connect Plus and one Capacity Plus.

Back to your original question, you aren't finding the control channel because it is a Capacity Plus system and has no control channel (at least not one that transmits constantly).

ok nickcarr, will try that also. I ended up scanning the frequencies from RR database, seem to work. But this system is a mixed Cap+ and Con+
Hello,

That works to a point, but with system operators using different licenses for the same system, and auctioned frequencies sometimes in the mix as well, you really need to search all the repeater output frequencies in the band. On VHF I search 150.8 to 174 MHz, skipping the weather channels, as there is no fixed repeater output frequencies and sometimes systems can get licenses for government frequencies in the 163 to 174 MHz range.

Thanks Eric,
this is like a blind person trying to find the doorknob in the dark. The variables are almost endless.

this is like a blind person trying to find the doorknob in the dark.

The relevance of "in the dark" being moot???

I always wonder about the doors being marked due to ADA. How would a blind person know there is a sign there to read? Seriously - would they feel along all the walls until they find the exit sign?
