I own a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Basically the sync portion only works for blue tooth or other cell accessories and will not work for a scanner. You can connect any scanner to the Stereo system through the LINE IN audio connection that is located in the center console. It is the same connection used to connect your I-pod or other music devices. This connection may be located in other locations dependent on the Ford model you own? You can choose to listen to music or your scanner .....but not both ....at the same time. You must also select line-in from your audio controls to make this work.
Hope this helps.

My HomePatrol works fine in my Ford Fiesta with the Ford Sync. Sometimes I just run a scanner app off of the cell phone (being lazy). I have also ran my Yeasy FT-897 thru the system as well, and it works fine.

Sync has been out for years and Ford or Microsoft still can't get it to work properly, never buy another Ford again.

I would love to make this work also. I have a 2013 Ford Explorer, and it only has USB, and phono plugs. There is no line in connection. And for the record my SYNC works great. Just my $.02
