McALLEN, Texas -- A Continental Airlines pilot became ill after takeoff and was later pronounced dead after the plane made an emergency landing.

The airline said only that the pilot suffered a "serious medical problem." A Continental spokeswoman said the company believes the pilot died of natural causes.

The plane was carrying 210 passengers on a flight from Houston to Mexico, when it was diverted to an airport in McAllen, Texas. Continental said the passengers were never in danger and the co-pilot landed the plane safely.

That is why we have 2 pilots in every commercial pax plane.
Sad scene.. Pray for his family and friends

Every think I could find said that is was a NW Airlines flight that landed in MSP after departing LAX.

Are there incidents?

OK, OK,

As soon as I made the post, CNN ran the news clip. The NW flight I found happened back in 2000.

My bad!
