Hello.

Just curious. Besides the obvious CB and FRS channels, would there be any good frequency(ies) to monitor in Ottawa leading up to the truck convoy arrival here on Saturday?

Thank you.

Channel 1 and 19 being used by truckers in the convoy. Range will be limited until they pass through your area though. Other than that, follow live streaming from the convoy itself when they are able on their Facebook page.

With the Truckers convoy making its way towards the Nations Capital, are there members in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario that can recommend sites or talkgroups, radio traffic to monitor?

Like:

OPP, Ottawa Fire, Bylaw.

Now that the convoy is travelling through Ontario, the thread was moved to this forum.

You can use this to supplement your monitoring: Ontario 511

A convoy came through Manitoba a few days ago. They were mostly using LADD-1 (154.100 MHz).. I think LADD radio is a western Canada thing. Don't know if they use it East of Manitoba.

Anyone got any details on frequencies used as they cross Canada on there way to Ottawa later this week?

I'm guessing some LADD frequencies as well as the CB, if anything?
They are using CB 19, and when they were out west they were using LADD 1 and LADD 2. (Not sure if they will continue the use the LADD channels in Ontario.) Also they are using Zello. Each convoy has their own Zello Ch. Convoy West, Convoy East, etc

I'm looking into the Zello thing. Seems pretty active and busy so far.

Gonna try and have a listen in to the radios if I can when they pass my area. I'm only a few km's from the highway so it shouldn't be too bad.

For Zello the groups are: 2022 - Freedom Canada Convoy, convoy east, convoy west, convoy south, convoy to ottawa, gta convoy to ottawa, windsor convoy. I'm sure there may be more groups if you search for them.

Maybe monitor OPP SIM channels and FleetNet for OPP Helicopter radio Air to Ground units, for an overall view of how many trucks and any gridlock.

A buddy of mine text me saying the OPP were using OPS16 for the convoy going through southwestern Ontario. OPS16 is a spare talkgroup.

I had my scanner set on Ontario Provincial Police, Zone 1, and had Zone 1-Whitby 37 on Broadcastify. I was watching on the MTO cameras too but still? Where were the Convoys??? Never saw any long convoys mostly traffic jams.
