Copper cactus J-pole

I have had scanners over the years and had always used stock antennas. I do have a discone outside for one, but after finding this forum, I thought that I might build something. After a visit to Home Depot for some copper and fittings I ended up with 2 J-pole's, one for 851 Mhz and the other for 440 . They were really easy to make and although I did not make exact measurements, I stuck each one in a chunk of 2x4, put them in a windowsill and let them do what they do. Wow, these suckers really work! I still have some pipe leftover, but don't know what I want to do next, maybe something in the 220 area and put it outside. I just wanted to take the time to thank all you guys that contribute information to this site and keep it running. Thank you !
