Hi Group, I am new to the Corbin, Whitley Co area.

I am using an Icom IC-R8500 and HP1 and 2 and I recon some one is going to tell me that the local Pol and Sheriff are Kenwood Digital?

It is super quiet down here, I cant even hear the digital noises on the RR.com suggested frequencies, I also look on the FCC database and see that the licenses have lapsed for both Corbin and Williamsburg?

So what am I doing wrong?

If they have gone digital has anyone the info for programming a Kenwood NX series transceiver so I can enjoy the entertainment further?

Thanks for any help

That is correct. They are NXDN digital. But encrypted. So all you'd hear is a garbled mess, if anything at all. And it is not legal to listen to them if they are encrypted. You'd have to get the chief of police to give you that encryption code and approval to listen to them.

I'd have to look, but I'm pretty sure vhf. It's been a while since I've been in the London area.

Thanks Ed
Yes like the Chief is going to give me the code hihi
I will do a band scan and find them not that it will do me any good,, I wonder if the C.O.P. even knows the encryption code?
I seem to remember seeing an article about how he has no objection to the public listening to transmissions so maybe it is worth an email :)
Stranger things have happened
So I wonder if Whitley Co. has gone the same route? something tells me that maybe they have, RR lists the freq of 155.685 and 154.800 as the main freq but they are dead and have been a very long time, so I wonder where they went to?
