The units ending in 9 are reserve ambulances that can be brought into service in the event that all EMS units would be commited on other incidents, or if there was mutual aid requested by another county.

** Mobile Comm 31 is housed at EMS Station 85 in Salisbury. It is Rowan Telecom's (911) mobile 911 bus. A new station 85 was just constructed directly behind Salisbury Fire Station 1. They specifically added a bay just for the MC bus. It was previously housed at Rowan Rescue Station 91 due to its size. It used to be the mobile mamogram bus that was used by Rowan Regional Med Center. It was sold to the county in 2004 for $1.00. It is a 40' Thomas bus.
