CPD encryption question

Does anyone know approximately when CPD is going encrypted? I usually listen to CW 1 which doesn't always come in clear in some pats of the city with my SDS100. It might be because I'm not using an outside antenna in my car, but I'm not sure if there are other factors.

Sometime in late 2022 i think, There will be official Broadcastify feeds for each zone so we can still listen to CPD

Yes, the CPD Citywides will be available over Broadcastify in the clear, however, there will be an approximately 30-45 minute latency (delay) when the comms are broadcast. Otherwise, the entire CPD network will be encrypted 100% of the time.

Thanks, Will. I used to know one of the 911 CPD supervisors, but that was ages ago. I was hoping we might have a CARMA member who still is involved with CPD communications that might have a closer ear to what is going on now.

Hugh, I have a ham radio friend who was a Sergeant assigned to the Communications Center, long before the new radio room was built and became Office of Emergency Management and Communications. He is quite elderly, and I'm not sure how his recall may be. There is a CARMA member who does work for the current OEMC, but I haven't seen him at a CARMA meeting (before COVID-19) for several years. Matter of fact, he bought my first 1994 CVPI, which I sold to him fully equipped.
