I bought an old craig scanner for 10 bucks today, it works, it has all the crystals for 33.940, which is what I need. But there is a slight problem, You have to monkey around with the volume button a bit to hear the weather come across, and the same for scanning, and it seems very touchy, and when you try to turn the volume up and down the scanner kinda squelches a bit and sounds very loud, I was told the volume knob needs cleaned, also you ahve to mess around with the antanna to make it stop maing a low constant squelch hardly able to hear but annoying, is it a bad speaker or antanna, also it has two places to plug in the antanna a uhf and vhf which one is it suppost to be plugged in? thanks

For VHF frequencies such as the WX and 33.94, use the VHF antenna port. Yes, sounds like the colume knob needs cleaned.

If you listen to any 4xx.xxxx MHz frequencies, use the UHF antenna, too.
