I have not heard any traffic on Cranston FD, channels 2,3,and 4 lately. Have they been encrypted and if so when? , So, I just heard a call dispatched in the clear. With that being stated, are they experimenting with encryption on some channels?

Nowhere near the area but there was last activity shortly after 6am on Fireground 2 per Broadcastify Calls. Are you using a scanner to bring them in & if so have you checked your programming?

Hello, thanks for the quick reply. I am using a Unication G5, have them programmed correctly. Monitoring the RISCON North Zone, all 5 channels. Hearing transmissions on the main channel fine. Maybe not a lot of need to go to channels 2 , 3, and 4.

Again with the out of state commenters posting absolutely zero help to the actual question.

@floridafuzz , yes, they're still in the clear. I do log them occasionally but not often here. They don't use them a tremendous lot. However you also want to have the South Zone programmed in as well, as I've seen them show up on the South Zone too.

CFD 1, 2 and 3 operate in the Northzone only. CFD 4 is enabled in both the North and South zones, and that TG is the fireground used for calls west of Rt.295 in the Western Cranston/Fiskeville area.

Thanks to all for the answers. I do have all 5 TG programmed into the North Zone and CFD4 programmed into the South zone as well. Sometimes I listen at night after 10 PM and do not hear any transmissions at all, that is what prompted my inquiry in the 1st place.
