There is a strong radio station transmitting at 494.327 mhz which I believe is located on mount wilson, just east of Los Angeles. I say l believe because there is no record for this station even with the FCC,
That is most likely the pilot carrier for TV channel 18.

Thanks nd, I checked with chat GPT and the transmission is indeed channel 18 and coming from mount Wilson.

Very helpful indeed!

G7, Thought you said you will not engage farther..

What’s wrong with chat GPT? How did it know channel 18 transmits on 494.327 and located on mount Wilson?

It’s much more useful than some of the engineers here..

nd, this particular station is the best for my purposes. Strong, stable, and transmitting on high frequency so I may use short antennas.

You are probably not going to be able to null out the signal from a mountain top UHF TV station because of all the multipath reflections.

Thought about it, but have no problem getting Tdoa measurements from there.

When all will be running, I’ll try to get the signals from noaa satellites in a remote location. Distance is crucial for my purpose.

Any idea how to show the carrier wave on the scope? This is better than a null.

I’m still trying to get the null, suppose to be simple..
