Band Plan
Altho there is [in writing] a band plan, it is not always followed.
A Quick review of
http://home.earthlink.net/~ecps92/cruise_ships.htm will
confirm those facts. Especially when we see Amateur frequencies being used.
Typically the pairs are
457.5250 / 467.5250
457.5500 / 467.5500
457.5750 / 467.5750
457.6000 / 467.6000
either one has been used as the Repeater with the other as the input.
You will noticed that this brings them into the GMRS spectrum. [Not going there !]
The other pairs you will see are
457.5250 / 467.7500
457.5500 / 467.7750
457.5750 / 467.8000
457.6000 / 467.8250 or 467.8000
Again, either one has been used as the Repeater with the other as the input.
Holland America has an interesting scheme.
458.0500 Repeater [Yes, public safety input] with a 467.... GMRS input.
There are all sorts of groups working on filing complaints with the FCC etc.
Most of my work has been the collection of the info, and logging to my web site
for Scannists to use [in port or on a Cruise].
If you find anything, orwant to spend time researching particular ports, let me
know there are great web sites that list all the Cruise Ships to particular ports.
Note, that these are not only Cruise Ship frequencies, but UHF Maritime and many of the
cargo/tanker vessell will use them as well.

I was scanning the arrival of the QM2, and I had a 'generic' question.
Does anyone know which 'foreign' bandplan is used for the ships?
The input/output frequencies are a 10MHz split. In the US, these
would be a 5MHz split. Anyone know who has a 10MHz split in the
457/467MHz band?
