Hi, I'm planning on driving through your state, in the end of June. I was wondering what talkgroup/s I should listen to. I'll be on I-95 driving to Massachusets. Thanks in advance.

Troop G, F, E are the troops that I-95 goes through.

Traffic enforcement uses thier own talkgroups and will sometimes use some direct frequencies. Put in 868.9375, .9500, .9625, .975, .9875 as well.

Not much use on the National ITAC/ICALL freqs but I would have them in as well.

Private call is used on the Ct SP system but not very much.

Sites 1, 8, 7 should see you through the state. (see database)

Great, thanks a bunch. Is there anyway for me to know what troop I'm in. Exit numbers or mile markers. Keep in mind I don't know the local geography.

I had some free time at work so I pulled out our CSP Troop Map and 3 of our Map Books...

Troop 'G' runs from Greenwich (NY State Line) through Stratford.
Line is on the bridge over the Housatonic River between exits 33 & 34.
Troop 'I' runs from Milford through East Haven.
Line is on the bridge over Lake Saltonstall between exits 52 & 53.
Troop 'F' runs from Branford through Old Lyme.
Line is between exits 71 & 72 (very near 71).
Troop 'E' runs from East Lyme through North Stonington (RI State Line).

Along these lines, what would I need to listen to the CSP if I travel I-84 through the state? That's the way I normally to go to Maine from down south here.

Thanks

keep in mind that if you are driving through CT, you will be in each of these Troop areas only appx 10-20 minutes each. Program it before you get here or you will be in Rhode Island before you get done.

FYI- avoid I-84 Waterbury area Mon through Fri days due to construction and Hartford I-84/91 any rush hour. Traffic jams are the only way we can get some folks to spend time in the state.

I plan on making a file for the trip before I leave

Also, thatnks for the traffic info, I'm not sure yet what days I'll be traveling but I'll keep that in mind.
